Alchemy

A scientist from the South of Germany, who would go by Paracelsus, was known for his contributions to chemistry and medicine, particularly debunking of old folk remedies. Lesser understood were his efforts to codify the mystic teachings of Heliopolis, the Gnostics, and the Knights Templar in Alchemical writings in order to protect and eventually spread these philosophies.
