Honesty

Are you able to differentiate between honesty and dishonesty? No--really. Most people can if the difference is obvious and large enough. An example may be if you took some cookies as a youngster when your mother told you not to touch them and when asked if you did take some cookies, you denied it.

But what if you wrote a thesis to complete the assignment for an advanced degree when in college, and copied most of it from a thesis written by someone else? Once you received your degree and went out into the world you then used your copied educational asset to further your employment. Do you ever feel a little guilt periodically or do you completely ignore what you did and just concentrate on moving forward? Besides, don't people have to get ahead any way they can?

You just keep going down your usual path not realizing the down side to what you did and continue doing, especially when you see other people performing in a similar dishonest manner. But what if you are not aware of a down side to the manner in which you are living?

There are some Biblical clues: "Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap," Gal. 6:7. "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged, and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again," Matt. 7:1.

Oh! So you are not very Biblically oriented. Okay, let's look at this topic from another angle. In 1687, Sir Isaac Newton in his book of Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy stated: "To every action, there is always opposed an equal reaction or the mutual actions of two bodies upon each other are always equal. And directed to contrary parts."

If you are not able to understand this main point from a Spiritual perspective, perhaps you are able to understand it from a physics stand point. The point is: whatever you do, either mentally or physically, returns to you (and you only) in the same or similar manner in which you sent it. Some people detect the return effect from their sowing via their Conscience and others do not. Which are you?
